Brian O'Sullivan's OMNIS Page
I had the pleasure of working with Brian while we both worked for Blyth Software. Here is Brian's page circa 1998, short and to the point which is Brian's style in my opinion. I have taken the liberty of updating links and some text.

What is OMNIS?
OMNIS is a tremendously versatile database development environment: cross-platform (Mac, PowerMac, Win3.1, WinNT, Win95, OS/2), local database, client/server, extremely scalable. The latest release,OMNIS Studio, features practical Object-Orientation, cross-component integration (ActiveX and Java Bean), and a palette of Web Objects. Check out the OMNIS web site for more information.
Some OMNIS Files to Download
The following OMNIS 7 files are available for download from this site. Each file is stored as a binhex'd self-extracting archive for the Macintosh, and as a zipped archive file for Windows operating systems.

Brian's OMNIS Background
I first heard of OMNIS in early 1994. Project politics introduced OMNIS as my group's new client/server development environment. I was extremely skeptical that OMNIS would meet our needs, but within 3 months a Blyth Consultant & I had prototyped an OMNIS 7 version of our system. Needless to say, I was impressed with the results and with the seemingly endless possibilities presented by the OMNIS environment.
I went to work for OMNIS Software, Inc. (OSI for short, formerly Blyth) at the beginning of 1995, and worked in OSI's Professional Services Division for 3 years. While with OSI, I worked on various client projects, taught beginning & advanced OMNIS training courses, and helped create the OMNIS Studio training materials.
Currently, I am working for Dupont on a variety of projects, but I still keep an eye on OMNIS.
